Davey Jones can’t play bass guitar. But that’s not stopping him
from nailing every chick in Pennsylvania!

  3. mortyfromc says:

@poloplayertj I think it was the other way around. I don’t think the Monkees wrote this song, anyway.

  4. EvilWoman0913 says:

The Beatles. Loved the Monkees and the TV show too, but the Beatles were real………..

  5. Sarah B says:

Though the Monkees were entertaining and even had a TV show, I’d say the Beatles hands down. Not only for their style, look and music. They influenced music as we know it.

You can listen to music today and still hear influences by these guys. I’m not being bias, I do enjoy both, however I’m more of a Beatles fan.

They were one of the main influences that bridged the gap of early 50′s rock to current modern rock. The Monkees can’t claim that.

    Beatles!!!

  7. BeatleSoul says:

You can’t compare The Beatles to the Monkee’s.
The Beatles were talented in all directions of music.
They were a very universal band They grew out of their bubble gum pop style and grew into serious musicians.
The Monkeys just stayed as pop idols.

The Beatles are the greatest band ever!
    and I love Ringo!

  8. greenhelium says:

The Beatles. On most of the Monkees recordings it wasn’t even them playing. The only one who actually played an instrument before going on tv was Nesmith. (The show is very good though)
