   I personally dont care for the ban, but it seems very wrong that people would get worked up for someones opinion especially if they are so proud to be american theye are just using their rights. youd have to be really stupid and ignorant to care what someone says and hate them.

   willie has never bashed anyone publicily in another country or said that he didnt want his fans to have toby or reba in their CD players. The dixie chicks did. Willie also is non offensive in his opinion and is a legend. he has been around forever, and it will stay that way. Willie Nelson is a true hero, not an obnoxious person who slams his country on foriegn soil…and i still hear the chicks on the radio in the north. do statiosn down south not play them at all-even their older music??

   The Dixie Chicks are not banned from country radio. I still hear them once in awhile.
   Willie is just Willie. He is still great in concert. Ya gotta love him!

   are they really banned? or do they just not get as much airplay? cause i still hear them. as an answer, agree with forbes. the chicks slammed out president on forgien soil and then went on to say that they didnt care if they had lost fans who were also fans of toby and reba. that was when they lost me…

   Sheet, I think Willie and The Dixie Chicks gets about the same airplay. Not enough. I guess people took it some wrong way. If radio was to play The Chicks the listeners was going to boycott the stations.I wish they would start a boy cott on Rascal Flatts instead. What Natalie said did not offended me at the least and I voted for President Bush twice. Someone needs to tell that gal above just what Natalie said that bashed our country. Wonder if she watches Hollyweird movies? Lord knows actors never bash the country and the president. BIG DEAL what Natalie said, I’m kinda embarrassed that I’m from the same state as Jesse Jackson and Dick Durbin. Since I wrote that I guess I’m going to get death threats now. John Mellencamp has some of the kookiest politics and ideals in his head. He said on The Charlie Rose Show that we was not only wrong going into Iraq but also Afghanistan. The guy flat out said he was against all wars even if attacked. Since I’m kinda easy going, I just shook my head and then played Paper In Fire off his Lonesome Jubilee cd as loud it can go.

   Hey, they don’t play Hank Williams III either. Its not just the Dixie Chicks. DJs don’t play controversial radio signers. I think it sucks big time.

   I have to listen to a mix station that plays all genres to hear them.

    Because Willie has been in the business long enough to know you dont mix music and politics , he doesnt get on stage and rant about anything , the majority of country fans are patriotic , republicans , you have to realize what makes up your fan base , in the words of my grandaddy….Dont Shit Where ya Eat

    My country station no longer plays the Dixie Chicks. They wanted to keep on playing them but they had a poll to see if the listeners wanted them to keep playing them. So the listeners did not want them played. Also my radio station doesn’t play Willie except for when they have an hour of playing the country oldies.

    radio stations don’t play Willie enough either! They play guys like Kenny Chesney or Keith Urban or the Rascall Flatts..I like to think of it as the backstreet boys or nsync of country..no talent, all sounds the same but kind of catchy.

    It doesn’t make sense to me why people don’t have a problem with Willie but they do with the Dixie Chicks. Willie’s more liberal than the Dixie Chicks & smokes marijuana & has definitely spoken out against Bush.. check out his “Whatever happened to peace on earth” song.

    It’s just people expect Willie to be untraditional & defy people. The Dixie Chicks were country music’s sweethearts & then they showed people they weren’t just 3 cute girls with a fiddle, they had brains & could think for themselves too. Pissed some people off apparantly. The Dixie Chicks just showed how classy & intelligent they are by not letting it bother them & continuing to make great music.

    You’ve gotta love both Willie & The Dixie Chicks if you’re a true music fan I think (especially country)
